Pediatric Palliative Care Research Network (PPCRN)
Joanne Wolfe, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
The Pediatric Palliative Care Research Network (PPCRN) needed a unifying identity for its community of researchers who work at the forefront of palliative care for children, as well as the many patients and families across the country whose volunteer efforts are improving care for children with life-threatening illnesses. The identity also needed to convey to potential funders the scientific rigor of the network’s efforts, and the compassion that lies at the heart of it. To achieve this, HCC selected a traditional typeface, set in a deep blue, and carefully redrew it to link the letterforms and emphasize their focused, serious bearing. With the network’s scientific caliber established by this typography, HCC then combined them with a blue and green, organically drawn symbol suggesting growth and nurturing.
